Somebody likes GP-30's! :)

Wasn't Athearn the first one to offer an HO model of one?

Nice collection!

I believe so. Man, they were pretty coarse. Extra wide hoods and shallow detail. My Dad had 3 of them when I was a little tyke. I can't say I didn't run the pants off of them though!

They had a very unique drive train with spur gears instead of worms, and I think they had ball bearings in the trucks (!).

I think I still have 1 in the cast-off bin, if I find it I'll share the images.....<rummage, rummage>

I am a GP30 fan too and have a ten of them from Proto 2000. The P2K 30's are pretty nice but I really do hope someone offers one with road specific details like the D&RGW with the unusual low nose light.
