~ 1984-2017 ~ Celebrating 33 years (and counting) in Norwalk, California ~

Folks, the California Southern Model Railroad Club will be holding it's bi-annual Open House this coming weekend, inviting anyone in Southern California (and abroad) to head over to Norwalk. Admission is free as always, plus there will be raffle prizes donated by numerous patrons, model manufacturers, and local hobby shops. Cold drinks, tasty baked goods, Model RR stuff for sale, and a wide variety of HO scale model trains will be set up and running all day Saturday, Sunday, and the following Tuesday evening. Raffle prizes will be drawn immediately after the Tuesday night session. Hours and directions are below. If you're not busy, please come on over and attend! Bring the kids, it's slated to be another picture perfect So Cal spring weekend with warm sunny skies.

This coming weekend...
Saturday, May 20 - 10AM to 7PM
Sunday, May 21 - Noon to 6PM
Tuesday, May 23 - 7PM to 9PM

How do we get there?
From Orange County:
Take Interstate 5 north and exit at San Antonio Ave [exit 121]. Turn left (under the 5 Fwy), head south to the second light and turn left onto Firestone Blvd. The club will be to the right in the mall just after you turn on to Firestone Blvd.

From Los Angeles:
Take Interstate 5 south and exit at Imperial Highway [exit 122]. Follow the frontage road across Imperial Hwy down 1/4/mile to San Antonio Ave and turn right. Just like the OC directions above, turn left onto Firestone and the club will be to your right.

Mike and Paul will be at the club Saturday from 10a to 7p. We'll have an assortment of our models on display plus our GE Tier 4 GEVo will be operating on the club's expansive layout.

Interesting BNSF Heritage hopper cars, what's the story on those aside from the Scale Trains BNSF/ATSF car.
