Yours could pass for a NYCLAC. Nice job putting it together.

So I'd love to hear more about the customized UPS trailers with skirts and upper rail. Very nice to see some realistic UPS trailers dressed up. Same with the one longer FedEx trailer. What took place with that one? I haven't seen an MDW trailer on a modern pig train in a while, but we'll give you that since the rest of the train was so absolutely stunning! The Estes pups were neat, and I look forward to Athearns next release of those. Are the spine cars Athearn or Bowser or both? Thanks for sharing and hope to see more! Gary B. Waverly, NE Date: 05/23/17 10:59 Re: BNSF Z train in HO Author: Hookdragkick Add a Long Runner twin flatcar to the mix--FEC runs solid-drawbar twin flats too. A SOUTHERN 89' single flat wouldn't hurt. I haven't seen one in about two years.

The UPS trailers are both Walthers and Front Range 45' trailers that replaced the hinged doors with roll up doors from A Line. I replaced the bottom of the ICC bar with a larger one using Evergreen styrene. The 48' trailers are Walthers models that I replaced the 2 lock bar door with a 4 lock bar door cut off Walthers 45' trailers. Those trailers will be used to model 28' trailers from various carriers. The UPS, UPS Freight, and FedEx trailers are Walthers 53' trailers with the rear doors replaced with roll up doors by A line. I also used Walthers 53' trailers for other carriers and those just got the roof and side sill painted silver. They also received added decals. Truck N Stuff/Tonkin were used for the other Clipper/Wheels Clipper 53' reefers. The rear doors were replaced with doors off of Walthers trailer and A Line 4 lock bar doors. Some of the trailers are a bit dated. I started this train many years ago and modeled the trailers I saw at that time. The trailers have evolved faster than I can model them. There is a lack of variety of trailer models. The spine cars are from Bowser and Athearn as well as a Long Runner from Athearn. The 53' trailer that bridges the two cars is movable at the king pin on the hitch and the rear tandems. This keeps the trailer from shooting off the car on cruves. The SD-70Ace was making it's maiden run since buying it many years ago. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/23/17 17:23 by needles_sub. All too often, people only seem to care how the first 200' of a train look.
