Model Railroading > Three eyed monster in the fogDate: 09/16/17 21:01 Three eyed monster in the fog Author: pmack Inspired by funnelfan's image of the day post a couple days ago, I tried to duplicate it in miniature. It was a challenge, I didn't get much done today.

Date: 09/17/17 18:50 Re: Three eyed monster in the fog Author: funnelfan Nice! But one thing to try is to backlight the model instead of having the light on the front. That would make it very similar to my pic.
Ted Curphey Ontario, OR Date: 09/17/17 21:21 Re: Three eyed monster in the fog Author: DynamicBrake Outstanding shot of an outstanding model. Your replication of fog is excellent. I don't know your method but, I as well as others I'm sure, would like to know. Thanks for sharing.

~Joe P. Hainesville, IL Date: 09/18/17 09:31 Re: Three eyed monster in the fog Author: pmack Thanks all, I'm glad you liked it. When I photographed the train I used a piece of foamcore for the background. The light is a 56k spot LED reflected off another piece of foamcore above the models. For the fog I used a number of tools in Photoshop. I separated the image into layers, scenery on either side and one of the train. I used the gradient tool in additional layers and adjusted the opacity to suit. More layers added some color. I used the eraser brush and clone stamp to blend the 20 or so layers together.
