Model Railroading > McCloud River #39 (SD38-2) models coming soon to HO scale

Daylight Trains has made arrangements with Intermountain to get 100 of their forthcoming SD38-2 HO scale models painted as McCloud River #39, complete with prototype specific details. 75 of these units will be sound equipped, the remaining 25 without sound. Daylight posted the following to their Facebook site yesterday:

"Ok this unit is roughly 40% sold out. As we are now entering modeling season again we would like to get it completely sold out. So if you have one on order thank you very much, we are asking for your help to spread the word and lets finish getting this unit sold.

If you have it preordered we are starting to take the deposits and will be in contact with everyone over the next week.

Here is the very cool part..........are you ready for this.............we need your help to spread the word and get it sold out. We would like to have it sold out by Halloween.........If we get this thing sold out by Halloween we will do a video and draw a number from 1-100 (actually it will be less because the 2 i am keeping and a couple others do not count) the winning # will receive their unit at NO CHARGE. This is one of those projects where we need our modelers help to spread the word about it, so in exchange for that help someone gets a freebie.

As orders are coming in they are going on a spreadsheet and that is where the numbers are assigned. Sound like a fun challenge.......lets do this and get someone a free McCloud # 39. Good luck and thanks in advance for all of your help."

What is the expected delivery date for these models?

My understanding, delivery is currently expected late this year or early next. They will arrive with the rest of Intermountain's first run of SD38-2s.

Would you maybe have sold out if you split the batch into some 38s and 37??

36, 37, and 38 are all non-Dash-2 SD38s. 39 was the only SD38-2 rostered.

I don't. You'd have to contact either Daylight or Intermountain with that question.
