Loksound CV32 Index Register ?
Author: globalethanol

On the Bowser GMD SD40-2 Quick Start Guide CV 32 must be set to 0 (zero) to change CV`s 1-256 and 1 (one) to change CV`s 257-511. it also refers to a full Online manual which shows CV 32 can be set to Values of 0-1-2 and 3 and shows different values 2-3 (two and three) for different CV`s on the function mapping table. nowhere on the online manual does it say a value of 1 (one) for any CV`s above 256 and nowhere on the Quick Start Guide does it say anything about CV 32 being set to 2-3 (two or three). Any help on how CV32 works on a Loksound Select decoder would be greatly appreciated.

TIA,
tom

Tom,

Reach out to Matt Herman at ESU directly - he's a good resource and a quick reply.

You can reach him through the customer service aspects of ESU US from this site: http://www.esu.eu/en/news/

Good luck!

CV32 can be set to anything when programming CVs 1-255.

When programming CVs 257-511 you must set CV32 correctly to a value between 0-4. This index value will depend on what you are trying to program.

CV32 = 0 is for programming the lighting effects and features.
CV32 = 1 is for programming individual sound volumes.
CV32 = 2-4 is for function mapping.

If you don't have the correct index set, you could end up messing up the way something else works.

You don't have to return CV32 back to 0 when you are done.
