Atlas HO Thrall Triple 53' Articulated Well car ?

Has anyone changed the coupler boxes on this model from the scale ones to something that can use a Kadee coupler?
Does anyone know if the new release will have this fixed?
I have asked Atlas this ? on FB & with an Email but got no response.
It looks like a Moloco box will work without destroying the car.

The newer Kadee "scale" couplers use the narrow "scale" coupler box.

The original run, you could not get any couplers in those stupid scale boxes.(not even Kadee scale couplers) They claimed to fix this in the newer run. I did not buy any.

I have a few of these-----Kadee #158 will drop right into the newer version car. If you're not sure which version to buy, go on Atlas website and look at the new version's part (stock) number. The cars are extremely light so plan on adding additional weight inside the containers.

The cars are from the 1st run & I will check Atlas parts to see if the corrected parts are available. Intermountain did the same thing on there 53 well car.
