Here are a couple of shots from my run yesterday at the La Mesa Club in San Diego, CA.

It looks a little like Cle Elum Washington when I'm there.

I surprised myself too.

WOW - GN and BN on the La Mesa layout. Back in the day they were so restrictive that would never have been allowed. Glad to see they've loosened up.

I've been running there for thirty years or so ( three, maybe four times a year). Non-members have mentioned that they didn't think that "they" would allow BN on the layout, but the members have never said anything to me. Heck, a long time ago, I used to run WP steam down there! They know what I model and they keep inviting me.
The crew that I run with are some very good friends, nice people, we just have a nice time on a great layout.

A BN truck painted in GN colors. I like it! Great grandfather and grandfather worked for the GN in ND.

Good to see you here on TO, Tom. I was at the club last month to watch Fredo, Don Delay, and several others run their trains. Here's a couple of shots I took with my phone camera.-BMT

1. Fredo's UP coal train climbing the hill.

2. The coal train stalled out as the lead unit died and they got a knuckle and derailed a couple of cars.

3. Fredo called out the "big hook" to remedy the problem (if only it were this easy in real life).

That's quite a detour!

What's up with the split in the sky backdrop in the pics? Is it an access thing? That layout's really become nice!

More of a lighting thing... The split in the sky is hiding additional sets of lights that are illuminating the much deeper Allard horseshoe curve, not visible from the public aisle.
