Model Railroading > RailBlazer WednesdayDate: 11/22/17 05:34 RailBlazer Wednesday Author: grandeguy One of my favorite Grande Trains from back in the day. Photos taken on Mountain States Free-mo setup at Salt Lake City Intermountain Train show a couple of weekends ago.

Date: 11/22/17 11:32 Re: RailBlazer Wednesday Author: RGDave Sharp looking models and a neat train!
The Railblazer was D&RGW's short and fast piggyback train, usually rated a pair of GP40/40-2's and a bunch of the 2-axle Front Runner flats, although sometimes it would have the 89'-6" cars too as needed. Fun to see this model! ~RGDave Date: 11/23/17 09:46 Re: RailBlazer Wednesday Author: KA7008 railwaybaron Wrote:

Good examples and picture links here... https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?3,3138199 Date: 11/23/17 12:43 Re: RailBlazer Wednesday Author: fbe Nice photos of the train. The prototypes had a click-clack sound rather than the clickity-clack of a 4 axle car. If you put freight car sound systems in a couple of the vans adjustments will need to be made.
I wonder what those UP guys are doing eyeing those brand new ties? Date: 11/23/17 15:35 Re: RailBlazer Wednesday Author: PHall RGDave Wrote:

Transitioned to regular 89 ft TOFC flats after the first year or so. |
