Model Railroading > GEHAMS Open House, 3/24/18 (10 am to 2pm) Bakersfield, CA.

This Saturday, March 24, 2018, GEHAMS (Golden Empire Historical & Modelling Society) will be hosting an open house of our two layouts. The building is located in downtown Bakersfield, California (See red circle on picture). Entry into the building is from the Service Street. We should have someone posted in the street during that time and signs on the elevator door. There is a button by the elevator door on the side of the building that rings a bell, so if no one is there on the street, ring the bell and someone will be down shortly to get you. The N scale layout is on the second floor and is roughly 18' x 100'. The HO scale layout is on the third floor and is approximately 30'x 110'. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Bakersfield area that day.

I participated in an op session on the HO layout last year, and received a complete, personal tour of the HO layout a few months ago. Thoroughly enjoyed myself both times.

In other words, entry into the building is from the alley (never heard an alley in downtown Bakersfield called a "service street").

Correct. I used "service street" because that is how Google maps labelled it in the pic.
