Model Railroading > HO &N NS heritage units which is best?

Kato for N Scale and Intermountain, Athearn, Bachmann (Botchmann) and MTH for HO. Who makes the best running and most accurate GE and EMD heritage units?

In HO here is my take. 1.Intermountain for me is they are the best running. Plus when they sad they where coming out with them they sad they are using paint chips to get the cooler just right. 2. Athern there HU look good. 3. MTH The color on the mobiles is off 4. Bachmann is ok for the price.

Looks like that smart phone word chirp got the best of you.

MTH make the best runners....solid motor which can pull a lot of cars. IMRC has good motors and details are good. Athearn only makes SD70ACe models of the heritage units. They are good with details although the stanchions are poor quality. The best sound for all of them is LokSound.

Don't forget that Athearn painted AC4400's in the NS heritage unit paint scheme's which probably didn't go over to well.

Other than completely selling out long before they shipped from China, probably not

I am pretty happy with my Broadway NS ES44AC'S in HO.

HO wise, MTH would be my favorite for the GEVOs. Most accurate shell, good runners. Intermountain GEVOs are 2nd. I've not run the Bachs or Broadways, but the Broadways look pretty good. ACes, can't beat Athearn's, but I wish someone over there would do something about the handrails.
