Recommendation For a Hot Foam Knife Needed.
Author: ChrisCampi

I’m looking to do some fairly small areas in foam scenery, mostly banks two to six inches high, and was wondering if anyone could point me to a decent knife. Most that I’ve seen are for styrofoam.

Thanks,

Chris

Micromark makes a pretty decent hot knife for about $30. Works well for everything from foamcore board right on up to 2” thick home insulation blue board. Comes with a temp regulator depending on just how much heat you need. Remove the cutting guide and you have a 6” long 3/4” wide blade.

Been using one at my train club for the past year or so. Just TO search Blue Foam Mountains to see some of the threads on the subject.
