Very nice!

Saw one of the prototypes here in NoVA a few years ago... patched over but still in service after 40+ years. One of the railfan games here now is looking at the patched grain hopper cars and trying to tell what they originally were.

By the way, does anybody know where the E&M Grain this series of 12 PTLX cars (34206-34217) were originally leased to was located?
(Edit: After some research found E & M Grain, Inc was a co-op in Edgerton, Ohio and Monroeville, IN that lasted until at least late 1980s)

Thanks for the help... First searches I did were with "E&M Grain". That had only found references to the new Tangent cars and the prior HO decals by Oddball decals.

If I had done "E & M Grain" instead I would have found out it was E & M Grain, Inc. of Edgerton (Ohio) and Monroeville (Indiana) and according to their 1986 calendar they did grain, fertilizer, seed and chemicals. Looking at aerials it appears they had elevators right beside the railroad near center of both towns (that exist as other co-ops today).

So there is our answer... The E&M stood for Edgerton & Monroeville. So now we know where "home" originally was for those cars.
