Model Railroading > DM&E Gondola with rebar

Here's a simple project that I believe gave this gondola some character. To this day the prototypes (which are about 21 years old) are in relatively good shape and are basically free of rust, grime and graffiti----hence the reason I didn't go overboard. Of course some graffiti scribblings, FRA-mandated reflective striping and a load were in order. Thanks for looking!

It's an Atlas Thrall 2743 gondola. It took a few months to actually find because a DME hasn't been made in many years! Recently however Atlas announced they will reintroduce this car in three road numbers...

Nice work! I notice the debris in the corner of the gon. But, you didn't mention what you made the re-bar from.

The rebar load was made by JWD Premium Products. I've used his rebar bundles in the past (posted elsewhere on this site) and I'm happy with the results....
