Model Railroading > Ex -SCOX cylindrical hopperDate: 06/10/18 17:33 Ex -SCOX cylindrical hopper Author: Jimmies I've lightly weathered and changed the reporting marks on this cylindrical hopper for a friend, who asked if I'd like to re-letter it for my shortline, the JSSX. I guess I'll consider it to be permanently interchanged onto his railroad.
The car has been faded with Craftsmart yellow acrylic and grime streaks brushed on from the walkway supports. The reporting marks were patched using boxcar red trim film and re-lettered JSSX. I used black for them because I didn't have any white "X's" remaining on the alphabet sheets I have. You only get 3 "X's" per sheet which is not nearly enough in my case. I also re-painted two panel on one side of the car, using the trim film. It went on as just smooth and easy as I could have hoped. The wheels and trucks are also done, using Krylon and weathering powders. Thanks for looking. Jim Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/10/18 17:39 by Jimmies. Thanks, that thing has become the backbone of the fleet here at JSSX. It's patterned after SQVR 345, which I had stumbled across pictures of on the interwebs. It was an Atlas undecorated model, and took about 2 months to do. Jim Date: 06/10/18 18:54 Re: Ex -SCOX cylindrical hopper Author: ghemr Exceptional workmanship on both items!
