Fun with 1.5
Author: tomstp

Over the last few days I made a trip to Durango, Co. to join in a live steam meet.  Of interest were two shays that came, both fired on propane.  First picture is the very colorful one.  The propane is the box car. A very nice 4-6-0 owned by Richard White is a super good coal burner with nice walshertz valve gear.

Hee is Richard with his engine.

This is a super nice set of 4 passenger cars built a man named John, can't remember his last name.

Temperatures were in the low 50's in the morning ranging from78 to 92 in the afternoon depending on clouds and or, showers.

Here is another nice 2-6-0. There were a couple of other 2-6-0 and small diesel engines at the meet.  What could be better than a steam meet in the mountains!

I like that ten wheeler.  I don't care for the Allen flat roofed cab, but the engine looks great.  An Allen ten wheeler would lend itself nicely to be made into a Frisco 4-6-0.

The great thing about 1/8th scale is it is fun and the nit pickers are often hard to find.

I'm sure Frisco1522 was not criticizing anyone's workmanship. He was simply expressing his design preference.

Besides that, 1522 is a friend of mine and he can say whatever he wants.

imagine what he would think of my ten-wheelers cab roof?
