Mike hosted 5 operation sessions on his layout, which models the ATSF between La Junta, CO and Belen, NM in 1992.

When I went thru Glorieta on the Chief this spring I remember it being in the middle of a near hairpin turn.

You are correct that the station/post office is on the inside of the curve that goes down the 3% grade of the pass. Every time I've worked with layout design it was much harder to plan what to put in the curve sections because everything lends itself to the straight sections. |
