Centerbeam flat cars
Author: Santafes95

I realized that I did not post pictures earlier. The reason I made the post is that these have been a pain in the you know what, but I know it will be well worth the effort when they are complete. I am anxious to get the last one complete and move on to a couple of projects I have in mind.

I got one of those lumber kits and after analizing it decided my arthritus fingers would be better off brushing my teeth.

Nice work. The cables and those corner protector thingies really make those car look right.

I've seen people use pieces of both paper and tape with good effect.

I use pinstripe tape but I also glue it down. I leave a little overhang and then when I pull the thread(cable) I make sure that I pull over the tape and the overhang comes down to the load. I tired to use styrene but didn't have much luck. Hard to cut and the paint made it real soft. The pinstripe tape works well and fast.

If you can find it, 1/8 inch Chartpak tape works pretty good.
