Kato thinking of a rerun of the Nscale 4141 union pacific  the ones on ebay are over 300.00

Why not ask Kato direct ?

I think you will see all the SD70ACE manufactures scrambling to release UP 4141 units.

But, with the factory situation in China, will they be able to get them to market in time to capitalize on the "wave of nostalgia?" I appreciate the deserved respect being shown to the late President, but given society's short attention span these days, I fear he will have faded to history by the time a fresh run of SD70ACes has arrived.

Kato (unlike their competitors Tomix and MicroAce) manufactures in Japan, so that shouldn't be an issue.

But I agree with you that unless Kato cold-heartedly anticipated this event and had N scale 4141s stashed in a warehouse in anticipation of the funeral, they won't see the cost effectiveness of answering to the short term emotions and demand of Bush 41's passing. I suspect when they do the next run of SD70ACes, they might run a few more 4141s as appropriate.

My need for the 4141 did not change this week, so the eBay pricing is non-news as far as I'm concerned.

Kato has just announced on Facebook they will rerun UP 4141 in N scale, preorders due January 7th
