Moloco GM&O 1265 is loaded with Pabst Blue Ribbon from Peoria, Illinois headed to Portland Oregon in the fall of 1983.

Well, if they loaded it with beer in Milwaukee then someone is in trouble. According to the routing instructions on the side of the car it's in assigned service and should have gone to East Peoria on the TP&W.
That should earn a nastygram or two!  ;-)

Shipping Pabst to Portland would have been a waste of money. Wouldn't sell there. All, and I mean all, the local beers are much, much tastier than Pabst.

Not local tasty beer in '83:  Grant's, redhook and Hale's were brand new little nobodies. Certainly if the car is carrying Pabst to Seattle, load the green car with "Green Death" and ship Rainier east . Btw, it was Pabst who eventually came into control of rainier and closed the brewery in '99.

In 1982, Pabst acquired Olympia (motto: It's the water) whose brewery was not far from Portland.

When were roofwalks supposed to be eliminated by cars used in interchange service?  I think it was prior to 1983 so you might have to roll the date of the PBR delivery forward into the 1970's.

That's a great model and of one of my favorite railroads carrying beer from former Rock Island customer who I used to work for and likely going over the railroad I retired from.
So you earn a "Blue Ribbon" for this photo.

A lot of these were in Pabst service out of Milwaukee, or Peoria Illinois.

Need to have tracks to be considered derailed! Don’t count Trexdeck as track.

There’s a picture of GM&O 1223 with a roofwalk in 1980 on railcarphotos, and of 1232 with a roofwalk in 1979 on rr-fallenflags.org.  I wouldn’t worry about the roofwalk.
