Model Railroading > Has anyone applied a textured surface to tank cars?Date: 01/04/19 15:39 Has anyone applied a textured surface to tank cars? Author: Ski Many tank cars in special service had a sprayed on insulation before being replaced by metal covering. I haven’t tried it yet but was wondering what would be a good product to apply the rough finish that the cars had. This would be in HO scale, has anyone had success in reproducing this on a model?

Author: needles_sub I saw a model at prototype modelers meet where a modeler took a bottle floquil white paint and sprayed the model with the unthinned paint at a high psi. Used the entire bottle on one car. The effect was highly realistic.
