This apparently integrates artificial intelligence into Brio like train sets

I've been noticing "slot car" sets without slots, with "Artificial Intelligence (AI)" being marketed in recent years. Software Tricks (not necessarily stupid) for classic toys. I quote "AI" because the functionality of sensors is what makes these toys possible, and "intelligence" is only as good as how good the sensors function.

No one is supposed to get hurt or die when the software of these toys malfunction.

This is a good way to expose kids to the idea of robotics. Let's see if these toys will prevent screen addiction with kids. If that fails, we'll continue to have Stupid Software Tricks concocted by digital zombies out of touch with the physical world, costing companies massive amounts of money for ideas that fail to deliver. Too bad these toys didn't become popular first.

Just googled Intelino Trains and found a couple articles from yesterday. Haven't found a price yet but I'm guessing it's pretty pricey

Wait a minute. Am I missing something? The beauty of Brio, Thomas and trains of that sort is that, without adult intervention and technology, the kids can create track layout of their choice and push the trains around physcially. I have a plastic tub full of Thomas Trains and wooden trains painted in prototypical paint schemes and my kids played with them for ours. Do we reallly have to introduce technolgy and AI into this level of play to make it enjoyable for kids?

100% agree, grandson loves playing with his Brio, he can design some good track layouts as well.

Brio, and its 1950's predecessors, is where it all starts for some people.
