One of the large industries on the Sierra Northern is Elysian Rock. They ship out enough material to warrant their own switcher, an Alco HH660 #601 leased from Relco.

Nice to see a RELCO leaser modeled. A quarry on the CNJ in New Jersey used an HH, too, and IIRC it was orange at one time but not a RELCO unit.

It's not hard to figure out what the Hercules covered hopper is there for. I wonder how often it gets switched out. It certainly adds some color to the industry.

Very nice usage of the Walthers Glacier Gravel kit!  Gives me some ideas on how I will use mine.

That 601 used to switch the elevator just outside Troy, Ohio. I once had pics and the data sheet on that very locomotive from the elevator employees. Pics I once had were taken with permission. Im not sure if I can dig those up.

I also used to visit that elevator in Troy, Ohio to see the 601 at work which is why I chose that diesel to model. Shot it on video and it appears on the Pentrex Alco series Vol. One.
