Model Railroading > Yea or Nay follow up & 1 more QDate: 02/12/19 02:21 Yea or Nay follow up & 1 more Q Author: calsubd Thanks for the great responses, decided not to put the meters on the DCC, New Q is "Are there any precautions when running DC on a Digitrax DCS51 layout using address 00", again thank you !, P.S. will isolate power when not in use.

I still have a long ways to go in converting my fleet over to DCC, so I still will put one of my DC units out. The hum is a little annoying, but for now that’s just what I have to live with until I get caught up on projects.

Most motors can handle doing it once and a while for short periods of times. Howerver, never run an engine equipped with coreless motors such as Kato P42s or Rapido RDCs on dcc without a decoder. Running coreless motors on 00 will ruin the motors in a very short period of time.
