Going by this CP website  <<https://www.cpr.ca/en/media-site/Documents/CP_Brand_Guidelines.pdf >>  it would be Pantone 200 C.

Hmm.. but isn't the earlier red/orange of Canadian Pacific RR in the Multimark era (as on RS10/18s) different than the current CPR Red?

Cheers,

I assume you're going to paint your RS10 nose? You could probably find the actual Action Red paint code at a CPR oriented model railroad group or maybe even at Exporail. There are a lot of knowledgeable CPR fans on Facebook. I'll ask.

Try the Canadian Pacific Historical Association: http://www.cptracks.ca/?fbclid=IwAR3Y8cbnuGCm1K18UpZ9LZSS1wMtairkI6Ey2MfbZzn8ULjt2ORqsjp6sDM

Here's a link to their Documents archive: http://www.cptracks.ca/cpdocs/main.asp

So far the only answers I've gotten on FB relate to model paints.

BTW, I've seen more than one reference to using the actual color Chevy Engine Red for CP Action Red.

Rapido has that color. That paint is very nice to work with. See below.

Hi Charles,

I would agree with Chevy engine red...Very easy to get at most auto supply stores.

Finally got a good lead from someone on FB who referred me to the RYPN site: "CP Action Red is equivalent to Pantone #032 . CP uses (or used) Phillips Paint part #3206.I got this directly from the CPR a couple of years ago."

Yes. And Pantone codes rarely match any railroad colors. Just not enough Pantone colors.
