Model Railroading > Map of my new attic HO layout -- the Saticoy PacificDate: 03/05/19 14:04 Map of my new attic HO layout -- the Saticoy Pacific Author: SaticoyPacific ERA: 1968-74
LOCALE: Ficticious area loosely based on Coast Line / Santa Paula Branch OPERATIONS: Reefer blocks, manifests, mining and short-line passenger POWER: Primarily 4-axle EMD/GE with some detouring KMs & SDP40Fs CABS: 2 separate lines (red vs blue) that parallel but never interchange (until I can perfect DCC!) CURVES: Minimum 32" on the mainline (blue) NOTES: Green stars are palm trees. Citrus packing industries are at top (parallel to yard). Town scene will be between Attic Fan & sea cove. STATUS: Benchwork done. Laying roadbed & yard tracks this weekend. Especially with structures or trains between you and waht you want to reach. Being an attic layout, I would assume (dangerous...) that it won't be very high off the floor, so reaching in may not be a problem. That's a critical location. I'd find a way to make that isle wider.
