Model Railroading > horn on atlas rs1Date: 03/19/19 13:34 horn on atlas rs1 Author: schneid I have an atlas with factory installed loksound decoder. I have increased the volume to max (cv175 to 128) but the horn is still not loud enough. Before changing the volume I set cv32 to 1.
Is there anything that I need to do. Do I need to set cv16 to 1 also? Date: 03/19/19 18:34 Re: horn on atlas rs1 Author: RRBMail Rip-out the offending decoder and go whoo, whoo when needed in your train room and/or in your mind; then save +/-$100 on each of your locos. :)

In order to invite enough people over to the layout your will spend more than $100 in beer to keep them happy enough to play the game for you.

If the problem is that your horn is being drown out by the other sounds, turn the master volume back down, and there should be a CV that will adjust ONLY the horn volume. That's the one you want to turn up. - Looks like you need to set CV31 = 16, then CV32 = 1, and then CV275 is the Horn volume. If CV settings are at max you have only one options and that is to try a better quality speaker. There are many horn sounds in sound decoders over the years that were recorded and installed at low volumes. Gen 1 Tsunami's were famous for that. Nothing you can do but live with it or go to another sound decoder.
