An ex Marinette, Tomahawk and Western boxcar

 Here's an Athearn "ready to run" Marinette Tomahawk and Western per diem boxcar that was acquired by Alabama and Gulf Coast RR (AGR). After the usual fading, weathering, graffiti and general upgrades (Intermountain wheels, Kadee couplers, Smokebox Graphics decals) it will fit right into my modeling era.........

 Of special note are the various decals made by Smokebox Graphics-----in addition to their yellow reflective stripes they also offer red brake shoe (Cobra) and UPC code stickers which are quite common on modern-era boxcars.........

That's todays' boxcar alright! All the added detail really adds depth to the car. Thanks for the into on the UPC code stickers and the red brake stickers--those will work as an alternative for cars using Cobra Treadguard HF brake shoes.

Love the barcodes! I’ve even seen them stuck across the door edge and door frame as what I assume to be a form of tamper evidence if the sticker is ripped in two before the load arrives at the warehouse.

I will have to watch closer on the prototype trains, haven’t noticed the UPC barcodes before. Excellent modeling work.
