Anyone know anything about this?

Anyone know anything about this? A friend aquired it today for $4 and track. Even I'm clueless on this one.

Any help wod be great.

Child's push toy for floor play. It is not set up to run on rails. It would probably be worth more if it was made by Leggo.

No flanges? Channel track? Or as suggested a pull toy for the hard wood floor. Plastic or metal? No side rods.

It's not a push toy, and two it's battery powered.

Ding ding. 

Looks like it runs like hot wheels, track is a channel rather than rails.  Imagine a complete set in like-new condition in the box could be worth something to collectors.

So the track is a single channel with a flange on both sides to direct the movement. I wonder if is single direction or if it has a reversing switch? Perhaps it was a predictor of today's battery powered movement.

I once had a wind up Marx which ran on O ga triple track which my folks got me before they thought I was ready for electric trains which was when I was 5.
