Bill Deaver Tehachapi, CA Date: 07/06/19 16:38 Re: Question about F-unit detail Author: fbe You will need 2 more one each on the upper outside door frame on the rear of the unit. These are rotated 90 degrees so they are parallel to the end.

Detail Associates made the lift rings. Brian E Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 07/06/19 19:11 by M-420. Date: 07/07/19 09:00 Re: Question about F-unit detail Author: tomstp Do you have a picture of one on the rear?
Date: 07/07/19 14:42 Re: Question about F-unit detail Author: fbe Try rrpicturesarchives forF units B models and you commonly find these on both ends of units so equipped.
Date: 07/07/19 15:32 Re: Question about F-unit detail Author: Betsy The lifting lugs were made in different styles, and often the ones mounted on the rear were a different shape. Hi-Tech Details makes two different style front and two different style rear versions. Given that BN Fs came from essentially three different railroads, finding a good photo will be worth the effort.

Shannon Crabtree Fredericksburg, VA Virginia Midland Railroad Blog Date: 07/13/19 00:06 Re: Question about F-unit detail Author: wabash2800 Here us what FBE is talking about. I took this photo in 1972. It was part of an A-A-A consist of former PRR FP7s.
Note, there are a number of other details here like the "F" for front (on other unit), rear flag holder, grab irons, rear light, etc., etc. Detailing model diesel units reminds me of being a very young man with a J.C. Whitney catalog for cars. You could really wrap up some money with added details by the time you were done. Victor A.
