Model Railroading > Using Circus City Decals to do Experience the UP car

A good friend had 2 Art Lockman cars and gave it to me so I could make the Experiance The Union Pacific car. Started by removing the Art Lockman lettering then the other lettering leaving the UP name on the letterboard. Applied the decals then after a day I dull coated the car and have a very nice addition the my Flag and Art Lockman cars . Cars are Walthers. Circus City Decals & Graphics does the decals and were easy to work with and am very proud of the 3 cars.

Good work!  I am just in the process of finishing my "Experience" car also.  I have enjoyed using Circus City decals on several modern RR projects.

I had Circus City make decals for me last year, excellent quality, and quick turnaround.

What's the average cost? I am going to need some for some 1/25th scale steam loco models (think ornate scroll work, shadow lettering etc., for 1870s) but maybe only three locos total.

i paid $40 for 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of my custom decal lettering.

I have some great artwork, but am too dumb to scan it and save it as a Vector file.  If I could do that, I could do some nice stuff with my ALPS

I think it would be great if we had some model railroaders who were willing to use their expertise in that kind of software, for example, for artwork and in another area with 3D files to utilize on a 3D Printer for a fee. Yes, it wouldn't be cheap but for some of us with special projects it might be worth it. And with Shapeways, we could sell the work and recover our investment. But perhaps the guy that draws the 3D file might keep the rights and sell the work much like a painter who did a painting for a book I wrote. But we would have our item. I know some guys that can do the 3D files, but they are too busy doing their own work, making a living, and raising a family, etc.

"Dumb", you've got to be kidding Don, that from a guy that scratchbuilds and kitbashes brass locomotives!
