SD45-2B off the workbench
Author: Santafes95

Needed some more power on the Peavine so just made 5510 active. Had painted it and posted pics a while back but didn't like it. I stripped and repainted it using Scalecoat paint and the results are much better. I used Athearn's radiator fans that come in sets of three. I also purchased three sets of Athearn SD45-2 handrail sets and was able to used one set and a part of another. They are a little tedious and delecate but they worked out pretty nicely. The best thing about this unit is that it is sitting ona Kato and runs great. I have a hammer B unit head painted and decaled on the chassis. It just needs a pair of Kato trucks. Roll on Santa Fe.

Nice work, I like this a lot! Who's shell is this or did you do a kitbash?

Great job,
Andy

Looks great!  I too have one like that, but all Kato including the drive.

The Hammer Head is a Puttnam shell already made. This model was a Railpower sd45-2 that I added the nose using Canon parts and plastic with lots of putty and sanding.
