Model Railroading > SP KM #9010 excursion trains in HODate: 07/22/19 21:07 SP KM #9010 excursion trains in HO Author: SPB This past Saturday Niles Canyon Railway ran a passenger excursion train with restored SP Krauss Maffei #9010. The consist was 9010, SP black widow GP-9 #5623, an economy baggage car and a set of articulated coaches. Here in HO is a replica of that train in photo 1.
On Sunday, 9010 was out again, this time with SP black widow SD-9 #5472 and a caboose. The second photo depicts that train. Gerry Date: 07/22/19 21:19 Re: SP KM #9010 excursion trains in HO Author: FiveChime Very nice Gerry!
Does the KM have DCC Sound? Regards, Jim Date: 07/22/19 21:27 Re: SP KM #9010 excursion trains in HO Author: SPB The KM is DCC with sound. Not an exact sound match but it works.

As we said in those days... Bill Deaver Tehachapi, CA Date: 07/23/19 00:33 Re: SP KM #9010 excursion trains in HO Author: boejoe One rewarding benefit of model railroading is being able to 'reproduce' a prototype situaton in scale: whether it be structures, tracks, actual trains, etc. These scenes were done precisely.

Are they available? If not, when will ScaleTrains make one? :) Phil Date: 07/23/19 07:52 Re: SP KM #9010 excursion trains in HO Author: ChrisCampi Nicely done Gerry. Tell me about the 5472, its on my list...

Rich Date: 07/23/19 09:16 Re: SP KM #9010 excursion trains in HO Author: wingomann That's great Gerry. I've been wanting to have models of the equipment on the NCRY. Being able to make a scale train right after the real thing is run is very cool (and fun).
Joe Mann Date: 07/23/19 21:47 Re: SP KM #9010 excursion trains in HO Author: SPB The KM 9010 is a brass model built by Union Terminal Imports. I believe they sold out, but you might check with UTI or the Train Shop in Santa Clara. I added DCC and sound to mine.
Chris - the 5472 is a Broadway Ltd. model from some years ago. It came with factory DCC and sound, but not a lot of details. I added the SP light package, sunshades and a few other items. Runs pretty well, but I am not impressed with the sound. Athearn was planning a 5472, One Sunday last year I was at Brightside and a couple of Athearn reps met me to photo and measure our 5472. So far I have heard nothing of when the model might be produced. Gerry Date: 07/24/19 10:02 Re: SP KM #9010 excursion trains in HO Author: KA7008 No need for sound
9010 doesn't make much sound right now. Lol Posted from Android Date: 07/24/19 11:11 Re: SP KM #9010 excursion trains in HO Author: PHall KA7008 Wrote:
