A few Pics from The Free-mo at the 2019 National Train Show
Author: barrydraper

The operators of the National Train Show gracously invited the Free-mo groups from California to organize a set up at the 2019 show in Sandy, UT.  Here are a few pictures of some of the 44 modules in the 60 x 60 foot layput.

A big thanks to the Free-mo crew for a great setup at the NTS. I got a chance to run my Amtrak Desert Wind train (with a loaner car from Jacob) across all the great modules contributed from many fellow modelers from many states.

Hello Barry,

Great looking train action! I know that the visitors to the 2019 National Train Show certainly enjoyed your Free-mo set up. Personally, I thought it was very impressive. I especially liked the Cucamonga module!

Thanks for the photos.  Some great looking models.  Show appears to be poorly attended.

The Oakland Mole was super impressive. And I snagged a photo of the Apache Canyon module, I really liked that one. Only problem, it was like the real railroad and I had to settle for no train.

And that Chicago module was amazing, didn’t get a chance to check it out as much as I would have liked.

I'll have to agree with jjd0618psd, where are the people???  The shots of the manufacturer's booths
appeared to occupy only half the room and there were'nt very many spectators there either.

At a National Convention, I suspect a lot of the visitors spent some $$$ to get there and stay a few
days and there's the cost of the convention itself.  If they are happy with what they saw, good luck
to them.  I would not consider it a successful show and would be rather upset with a poor turnout
like that.  I hope those pictures were taken the lunch hour when everybody was out eating!

Super stuff.  Coordinating the transport and setup require a huge effort by many.  Congratulations and thanks to all who participated.

Thanks for sharing!

My favorite photo is the one second to the last, portraying life above and below the city's streets.
