Is there a consensus on the colors to use when painting a Chessie System diesel?

C&O Enchantment Blue
Reefer Yellow
SP Daylight Red (close for vermillon)

Accu-Paint makes the correct colors for Chessie as well.

Not to be a wisearse but, Chessie Colors? I mean, most brands of paint come in Chessie Colors I think? One variable would be the primer color underneath and it\'s influence on the result.

Accupaint is good shtuff... when you can find it.

The Accupaint "vermillion" is not the same as the "vermillion" color that Chessie used (unless painted over yellow at which point it might be close). Most Chessie painters I know use Illinois Central Orange (which is a reddish orange that is closer to the color found on new Chessie EMD units)...

The yellow color used by Chessie - Federal yellow - was pretty much "school bus" yellow...

Yes, I know that some Chessie colors are commercially available. However, that does not mean they are 100% accurate, so I was looking for input from Chessie modelers to verify the accuracy of these paints.

And, yes TCS, I finally dropped that name, since it can cause confusion.
