Model Railroading > China tariffsDate: 08/13/19 08:20 China tariffs Author: grahamline Maybe we can confine ourselves to the facts of the case.
I can't post to the 'tariffs' thread. Here is Tuesday morning's leader from the NYT on the subject: "The Trump administration on Tuesday narrowed the list of Chinese products it plans to impose new tariffs on as of Sept. 1, delaying levies on cellphones, laptop computers, toys and other goods and announcing exclusions for other products for reasons of health, safety and national security." The BBC story is much the same and more accessible at https://www.bbc.com/news/business-49287494 Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/13/19 09:24 by grahamline. Date: 08/13/19 08:31 Re: China traiffs Author: SPDRGWfan What I am wondering is what about companies like Broadway and ScaleTrains and another I can't remember who have announced price increases. Will those price increases be cancelled or rolled back if the tariffs end up not affecting the products listed?
Corrected - yep, Dec 15 (total brainfart) Edited 4 time(s). Last edit at 08/13/19 11:36 by SPDRGWfan. Date: 08/13/19 09:29 Re: China traiffs Author: tracktime Correction - Tariffs delayed until December 15.

I would find it safe to say that ST will maintain the original pricing through 12/17/19 and then making the adjustments as necessary. Russ Date: 08/13/19 11:37 Re: China traiffs Author: SPDRGWfan Now it just needs to be delayed until my Genesis SDP40F's with ice breakers come!

Date: 08/14/19 07:39 Re: China traiffs Author: BAB Intresting note on them as if one buys a toy, scate train or ever what there is none at this time on them. Dont know about people like Scale Trains how much they pay. This came in the form of a conversation I had with the fellow at customs in SFO about two years ago. I was going to buy an item from China that would cost about 1000.00 USD. He also sent me an email stating the correct place to find the rule relating to that. And an FYI am putting together an order for two Sherman 1/6 scale tanks for my 1.5" scale military train right now.
