Model Railroading > Handbrake ChainDate: 08/31/19 07:55 Handbrake Chain Author: funnelfan Any suggestions on where I can find a handbrake chain detail in bulk? There is a good one on the Details West air brake detail sets, but it's a waste of money to just use that one part out of a set. And that is a missing piece on a lot of my older cars.

He also had photoetched 72 lpi chain, but I preferred the 52 lpi actual chain. I cannot find anything smaller than the A-Line 40 lpi chain available now. Pat Date: 08/31/19 14:43 Re: Handbrake Chain Author: funnelfan I'm not looking for actual chain.....that I already have. But a plastic detail that includes the chain, rod and coupling between the two.

Date: 09/01/19 03:54 Re: Handbrake Chain Author: Hookdragkick I'm not aware of any kits with just the one thing that you want without having the airbrake system included. If all you want is the brake rod, make your own. Wrap some brass wire around the chain and use some Tichy turnbuckles (cut in half) to attach the other end to the Bell Crank.

Try Tangent Scale models. Dave has a spare parts page for each of the car models offered. While not all parts are in stock you may be able to hunt through and find what you are looking for. Russ Date: 09/01/19 07:19 Re: Handbrake Chain Author: fbe Grandt Line had a piece which might meet your needs. The number was 300-114 but it does not seem to be available for now.
Date: 09/01/19 07:27 Re: Handbrake Chain Author: fbe Sorry, 300-114 is an O scale part. I don't know if there is an HO equivalent.

I met him at the Savannah RPM meet a couple years ago. Awesome modeler, and easily approachable. Arved Grass Fleming Island, FL |
