SD45-2 Project

I purchased this SD45-2 a while back in the old numbers and the EMD lettering. I stripped and repainted most of it and relettered it. I have an ESU nonsound decoder in it and it runs smooth. However, it runs very fast and doesn't play well with other units like my Kato sd's. Any suggestions? Thank you.

KATO units in HO scale dont play well with others at all. Why i refuse to buy KATO unit's.

Lower CV 6 midrange and CV5 high range. That should lower the speed and then the Kato can play together.

Great job painting, you present some good work. 5824 is interesting for the fact the Santa Fe name is further back on the hood than its usual placement. Now the "Fe" portion is completely behind the radiator grill. The placement could of been a "whoopsie" being that it was a Kodachrome repaint.
