Model Railroading > Athearn LED'sDate: 11/04/19 06:38 Athearn LED's Author: M-420 I see where Athearn is now selling stand-alone LED's...
Has anyone had any experience with using these in place on incandecents? http://www.athearn.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=ATHG67143&fbclid=IwAR2HbwiedDZsokUYSUj6z4tiBD3d614bFrK9tFQe9kwa73oydSwWw-YMU_g The info on the website is sparse, but I have to assue that you can't just drop them in place of the factory bulbs on a Genesis model. Any install tips would be helpful. Thanks Brian E Date: 11/04/19 08:12 Re: Athearn LED's Author: fbe The incandescent bulbs are 1.5 v
The leds are 3 v so they are not drop ins except for a newer Genesis factory equiped with led lighting. Date: 11/04/19 08:23 Re: Athearn LED's Author: M-420 fbe Wrote:

Thanks B Date: 11/04/19 12:40 Re: Athearn LED's Author: tracktime My understanding is that to use these LED sets from Athearn as intended, customers should also purchase their new motherboards capable of supporting their LEDs.
If you choose not to purchase the new motherboards, but decide to go with their LEDs, you are on your own in finding some suitable resistors/alternate arrangements, etc.. Cheers, Harry Date: 11/04/19 15:38 Re: Athearn LED's Author: M-420 tracktime Wrote:
