Model Railroading > A Couple of Cadillacs on Train #102Date: 01/07/20 15:56 A Couple of Cadillacs on Train #102 Author: funnelfan Ran train #102 at River City Modelers in Spokane during Sunday's operating session. It's a Quincy to Easton freight with some work enroute (Sumpter, Jefferson, Cedar Springs and Hastings). Train covers the whole line during the shift, although the most work is at Jefferson where things were tied up in a jackpot when three trains converged on the yard to do work. I employed my recently acquired Walthers Proto SD9E with a older SD9E I kitbashed and painted from a Life Like Proto2000 SD9. The Walthers unit has sound, but I still need to tweak the decoder more so it runs between with my other non-sound units. I bought another of the non sound SD9E's, but it's torn apart on my workbench getting modified to it's 1990's look.
1. Getting ready to depart the yard at Quincy 2. Passing through the industrial part of Weston 3. Out of the city and into the farmland passing a orchard. Ted Curphey Ontario, OR Date: 01/07/20 16:00 Re: A Couple of Cadillacs on Train #102 Author: funnelfan 4. passing through the rolling meadows east of Weston.
5. Now into the wheat belt at Plaza. 6. Climbing into the Cascades past a log loading spur. Ted Curphey Ontario, OR Date: 01/07/20 16:04 Re: A Couple of Cadillacs on Train #102 Author: funnelfan 7. Waiting at the summit for a meet high in the Cascades.

11. Train passing under the logging railroad branch at Tamarack 12. Pulling into Sumpter to drop a few cars. Ted Curphey Ontario, OR Date: 01/07/20 16:14 Re: A Couple of Cadillacs on Train #102 Author: funnelfan 13. Making a cut behind 3 cars to place in the yard next to Sumpter. Whiskey Barrel factory is loading a all-door car to ship to a distillery.

17. Things turned into a jackpot when 3 trains converged at Jefferson to do work at the same time. Took some see-sawing to get everyone in position. 18. Finally going about my work in the yard. Ted Curphey Ontario, OR Date: 01/07/20 16:22 Re: A Couple of Cadillacs on Train #102 Author: funnelfan 19. Out of Jefferson and heading down the mainline passing the sawmill at Lone Pine.

You especially did a good job doing the backgroud murals. In some of the photos, I had a hard time figuring out where the 3-D to 2-D vanish points were!
