Steam Era Hanging Wood Boxcar Doors
Author: funnelfan

I was surprised to find out that no one makes hanging wooden doors for steam era boxcars as a separate part. They were very common and some cars lasted into the 1970's in revenue service that way. I need three sets to convert the Walthers ARA 40' Composite Boxcars into quasi SP B-50-15 boxcars. So I'm designing them using Fusion 360. Still learning this particular CAD program, but have made good progress. Still need to design the door lock mechanism, lower door guides and door stops.

Lots of nice details to accentuate by weathering. Full steam ahead!

Will these come out as Shapeways products later on?

Nice looking doors, could be a kitbashers dream.
