Model of CSX's Office Car "Michael J. Ward" in Earlier Days
Author: aehouse

A post on the passenger forum notes that a couple of CSX office cars have been repainted in the B&O Royal Blue livery and renamed for Hunter Harrison and Michael Ward.

The newly restyled "Michael J. Ward" began life as Erie 10 rommette/5 double bedroom sleeper "Spirit of Youngstown" built to Canadian National specs in 1954, and (along with its twin "Pride of Youngstown") as add-on to a CN order for similar cars.  Since then it has served in both Erie and EL revenue service, and in EL, Conrail and CSX office car use.

The photo is of a highly accurate Rapido model of the car in its first (of many) names and liveries.

In Erie and E-L days, that sleeper propbably never went on those 3 branches.
