Model Railroading > Did you use Sunscreen?Date: 02/10/20 20:04 Did you use Sunscreen? Author: railstiesballast Recently two Santa Fe (now BNSF, see the little patches) warbonnets showed up at Pat Yard.
The desert sun has certainly been hard on the 600, compared to the 601. The 600 is a Kato which came to me a more brilliant red, and my attempts to dull it down were a little too strong. The 601 is an Athearn, pretty much as delivered. Sorry about the depth of field, this is an iPhone grab shot. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/10/20 20:06 by railstiesballast. Author: SPDRGWfan My dad used to say years ago, never buy a car that is black or red, as those colors didn't stand up well over time. I do remember that being so true if you saw a car that was 5+ years old. But in recent years, that seems to be less an issue. I wonder if cars can hold up with better paint in past 20 years, why can't train engines?
