Atlas's New HO Gunderson Multi Max autoracks
Author: brfriedm

I have several of these reserved with Scale Trains to be honest and I had not planned to buy any of the Atlas versions but I just happened to be on MB Kleins website at the time these were posted so I broke down LOL and bought 3. I am impressed with these cars. The detail is very nice and I will now own both models. They roll very well, have nice weight and these are the first Atlas products I have bought that come with Kadee couplers. It's about time. Thanks.    Bruce      Be safe and healthy.

PS - During these quarantine times, having the layout has never been better. I am getting allot done and running a ton of trains. We are moving freight for sure.

They look great.  Thanks for sharing.

Now Intermountain needs to schedule another batch of the Red Caboose Autoracks in N Scale or ScaleTrains should give them a shot.

Nice auto-racks, but no D&RGW!

These type of racks  are too new for the Denver & Rio Grande  Western. Nice autoracks.

InterMountain no longer produces any of the former Red Caboose items in N Scale, those were sold to Fox Valley Models by Red Caboose.  When the decision was made by the folks at Red Caboose to retire, Fox Valley got the N Scale side of their products, InterMountain got the HO side.  The N Scale racks were certainly a popular car, hopefully FVM will do them at some point.
On the HO side, InterMountain has a run of racks that are currently in production so hopefully it won't be too much longer.

I can't justify a $40 price difference per car.  Anyone doing research will see the scale trains operator is on the same level as atlas' offering.  But some people can't contain their excitement or their budget.  There is a you know what born every minute and lots of them out there right now.  I bet atlas is breathing a sigh of relief.

Some people planned their life better and planned to have extra income for things they want but don't need.
I feel sorry your life hasn't given you the ability to buy what you want. Don't be bitter. Make the needed changes in your life and you can enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Nice attempt to berate me.  I can afford to buy out every Atlas autorack in circulation if I so please.   There is a difference between having money and spending it wisely.  There is no bitterness except the companies like Atlas will continue to take advantage of the modeling community with absurd pricing when suckers pay for it en mass.  How is it there can be such a stark difference in pricing on the two model company's autoracks?
It is because Atlas is looking to load their pockets while Scaletrains is simply trying to make a marginal profit.   You can take your condescending attitude elsewhere.  You should want to check how high off the ground your pedestal is before attempting to look down on someone you have no idea about.

Is it not the case, that everyone is entitled to their own choice of what is a valid expenditure?
I bought both Scale Trains models AND Atlas......simply because....I wanted to.

If you think the prices are high, don't buy them. You berate others by insinuating they are suckers for buying them.
No need for me to be on a pedestal. My feet are on the ground when I look down on your comments.

I made a video for my Youtube channel showing a road train picking up these racks. I am sure some of you will give it the thumbs down LOL. No worries. I have thick skin. Be safe.

I saw the ScaleTrains version when Shane visited Chantilly Virginia at the WGH show.  They were nice too.

I'm hoping for an early enclosed or partically enclosed autorack that would work for the 1970's.

Cheers, Jim
