SP Extra 6232 East exiting Tunnel #5 takes the siding while meeting a westbound waiting on the main at Cliff Siding on the La Mesa club's Tehachapi layout (Don DeLay photo).

This is a common meeting place when I have served as one of the volunteer road crew (typically three or four?) on a regular weekday session.  With no dispatcher, we usually would run with "See and Be Seen" rules in effect and try to ensure that there is at least one train running on the upper floor and one train running on the lower floor at all times.
