Model Railroading > A 4449 special photoshop trial and error

On May 13th I posted a little traffic jam on my layout when the BNSF chartered the 4449 for an employee appreciation trip.
Playing around with photoshop and my iPhone today, here are two more shots.
The first one was made by uncoupling the train and setting the iPhone of a small wood block at about the height of a rider in a vestibule right behind the baggage car.  I like how it came out except I can see some blurred steps in the focusing along the car. There were four or five steps here, all manually selected by one clumsy finger on the screen while holding the iPhone steady with the other hand.  
But this is close to how a very good day riding the prototype 4449 to Bend, OR, looked a few years ago and I'm going to try this some more in the future.
The second one was done with my DSLR on a tripod.  This was made with Helicon focus making many more focusing steps (maybe 16). 
Next pass through Photoshop will see some steam and smoke effects.  
My once handsome 4449 looks like I never completed it.  The lack of crew and glazing show up in many other photos.
