The Celica is from Brekina while the Cadillac and Volvo are by NEO.

I have to figure out a way to paint and decal a couple of them in red/cream for the United Traction Company. (Albany/Schenectady/Troy, NY). Were there standard paint schemes for GMbuses like there were for early locomotives?

Glad to see the N scale BCR 8-40CMs moving along.  I have three of the original HO versions, but they're in a display case over my desk since they're "wrong scale, wrong prototype" for me.  But there's so many fond memories associated with watching those engines that I couldn't resist.  I'm excited to get some I can actually put on the layout and run, even if only when nobody's looking since they're still not appropriate for my prototype... :)

Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that the shop I ordered them through doesn't go under before they get here.  That preorder seems so long ago.

Not all GM new look buses are from the same mold.
I won't buy their LAMTA bus because it's far from correct.
Those damn double wide Canadian rear doors, roof hatches, wrong lighting.
I bought the Toronto and Boston as they are closer to correct.
I might buy a Santa Monica if they number it in the 5100 class.
5180 being the last 40 foot new look built.
But most of the Rapido new looks are inaccurate.

These have sold well for my store, and I picked up a few myself.    However, the rear wheels are still too far inward, giving the unit a somewhat strange look.   Was hoping future runs would be corrected.
Also patiently waiting for RTD...

Exactly Jason.
SCRTD had hundreds of them.
I drove them all.

I asked the guys, and I have been told this was done on purpose.

In order for the front wheels to turn, they needed to be moved inset a bit. This is due to model tolerances.

We then had to move the rear wheels in a bit as well otherwise it looked very strange.

Overall, we're happy with the compromise. We are talking about 3 scale inches per side. I am sure the enterprising modeller can fix that if so desired.

And you're right, these have sold very well. The new run sold even more than the first run.

I have not heard a single person say "I would have bought a fleet of Rapido New Looks but the rear wheels are inset three inches so I scratchbuilt my own instead." :-D

I would have bought a whole fleet except the LAMTA model is totally inaccurate.
And who needs the wheels to turn?
A bus on an HO layout or a shelf never moves.
Stick to accuracy.
That's what people want.

I do. Most of what I have use rigid front wheels and nothing looks more unrealistic. It's like a parade of tootsie toys. Sure, out on the model highway with a driver inside - straight wheels are ok on a straight stretch of road. But most of my vehicles are parked just like in real life and parked vehicles rarely have straight front wheels.

Are we getting any closer to shipping out the USRA box cars?  I ordered a few from my pusher, Des Plaines Hobbies. I sent them an email recently and to my surprise never heard from them.

I spoke with a couple of folks at Des Plaines Hobbies today and they have started to get in some of the USRA Box cars! But the "one" yellow TH&B box car hasn't shown up yet. <G> If some of you are looking for singles, Des Plaines is breaking up the four packs.
