Model Railroading > A Question for Jason and his Crew at Rapido

I ordered a M&STL USRA and a TH&B USRA from Des Plaines last year. They have the M&STL, but we have been waiting on the Yellow TH&B car for several weeks now. What gives? Are you still mad that you sold more of the one and only TH&B car than the others? <G>

Hi Vic,

That COULD be the reason - but it's more boring than that.... The yellow TH&B cars arrived with yellow (rather than black) doors. The factory has made new shells. They will be on our next shipment, but and then we will be swapping them out at our warehouse before we send them out. Will likely be another six weeks or so... Sorry.

They did the same thing with the WP RDC-2's. The "wings" on the rear were left off, they returned all of them to China to be fixed before they shipped them.
And they ate the cost to fly the units to China and back.

I have found that they give more than just passing service but way beyond what is called for. Another item reading on here is that some seem to never be happy about things and blame the mfg thinking that the one engine one railroad owned should be produced for that one person which wanted it. They try very hard to produce as many different ones economically possible which is the only way to stay in business. Still cannot convince myself to buy one of those buses after working on them for years tho.

Yeah, and I've never had any interest in playing golf after three summers spent caddying during high school back in the early 1950's. Which makes me all the more impressed with the railroaders who take up model railroading as a hobby.

Hey, dig those bell bottom jeans.  I was a young teen last time I had them in the early 70's.  By around 1975 or 76 they were going out of style.

Yeah, I wore those in the early 1970s. I'd love to include one of the Rapido busses on my new layout, but I model an earlier time period.

I've been wearing bellbottoms since 1990. That's probably 20 years longer than the original bellbottom era lasted... 

As for going out of style, I can honestly say I've been out of style since 1990... :-D

They were out of style about 15 years before you started wearing them in 1990.

I've never kept up with the ever changing styles, but my wife tells me bell bottoms are back in.  I don't get out much, especially with the pandemic now, and so far haven't seen anyone wearing them.

I haven't seen anybody but the "vintage clothing" bunch wear them out here in Southern California.

Sounds likea limited resurgence.  I would consider bell bottoms vintage as well.
