Follow Up on Steam Loco Tube Pilot for Bachmann HO, GE 44 Tonner

This is just a grab shot. The project is started. I think I will go with this but may make the footboards thicker to simulate wood. Testing reveals that a longer coupler (with modification to the coupler mount) will be needed and the trip pins possibly removed from automatic couplers. That's not a problem, since I won't need them on the new layout. My Eel River Traction Company will have a GE 44 tonner and an EMD SW1 for motive power. I don't plan on modifying the pilot on the SW1. Yes, since the 44 Tonner is double-ended, there will be a modifed pilot on each end.

See my other post,      https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?3,5035783,5036850#msg-5036850      but just a very few RRs had GE 44tonners with such pilots including the Southern, Canadian National and the Greater Winnipeg Water District in Canada. This isn't an exact match for any of them, but they varied anyway. (They must have all been home built).

This is really going to be fun. I designed my own paint scheme with custom decals and am in the process of scratchbuilding a car barn.

That's looks pretty cool. 44 toners are fun.
