Model Railroading > quick tsunami speaker questionDate: 07/03/20 11:29 quick tsunami speaker question Author: NYCStL776 I am about to install a tsunami 2 decoder, I measured the speaker, which came from soundtraxx and is advertised as compatable with the decoder, it is rated as 8ohms, but measured 9, will this hurt anything? thanks

Stuart Date: 07/04/20 08:42 Re: quick tsunami speaker question Author: KsPoker I'd be more worried about the wattage. The amplifier in the Tsunami 2 decoder is 2W and cube speakers are usually rated at 1W. That's why I use two, 1W speakers. Not sure about the Soundtraxx cube speaker. It might be rated at 2W. You may want to check for sure.
If you decide to use one, 1W speaker, I would make sure you turn the master volume down in half. That's what I've done in the past when I could only fit one, 1W speaker inside the shell. Mike Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 07/04/20 08:56 by KsPoker. |
